Moderate Democrats are retreating from Obamacare, according to the Washington Post. Hospitals are retreating from Obamacare. Americans broadly doubt Obamacare will help them. Consumers in most states wont see reductions in premiums for their healthcare, contrary to what the Democrats claimed. In fact, there are twenty-seven ways in which Obamacare will increase the costs of your healthcare. In the meantime, Obamacare is costing jobs in Ohio and elsewhere. The restaurant industry is reducing hours of employees and cutting full time workers.
Why would Republicans keep funding a law that hurts so many people and is so unpopular? Why would they do that?
Republicans in Congress have a choice this fall with the latest continuing resolution. They can choose to not include funding for the implementation of Obamacare. Negotiate everything, but make that their line in the sand. If the Democrats choose to shut down the government over an unpopular law that hurts people, it is their choice. Republicans should not fund Obamacare.
Any Republican who chooses to fund Obamacare should be primaried. The advertisements write themselves. Republicans, by voting to fund Obamacare, are putting people out of work, driving up healthcare costs, and hurting families. Republicans are not listening to voters who hate the law if they fund Obamacare.
Right now in the Senate there are fifteen Republicans who have signed a letter saying they will not vote for any continuing resolution that funds Obamacare. They would rather the Democrats shut down the government than destroy lives by funding this legislation. Call these Senators today and tell them thank you and tell them to hold strong.
Marco Rubio Florida (202) 224-3041
James Risch Idaho (202) 224-2752
Mark Kirk Illinois (202) 224-2854
Chuck Grassley Iowa (202) 224-3744
Rand Paul Kentucky (202) 224-4343
David Vitter Louisiana 202) 224-4623
Roger Wicker Mississippi (202) 224-6253
Deb Fischer Nebraska (202) 224-6551
Jeff Chisea New Jersey 202) 224-3224
James Inhofe Oklahoma (202) 224-4721
John Thune South Dakota (202) 224-2321
John Cornyn Texas (202) 224-2934
Ted Cruz Texas (202) 224-5922
Mike Lee Utah (202) 224-5444
Mike Enzi Wyoming (202) 224-3424
If your own Republican in the Senate is not on this list call him and ask him to sign Senator Mike Lees letter and pledge to refuse funding of Obamacare in the continuing resolution.
Why would the GOP vote to fund something that harms so many?
There comes a time heroics does not do it anymore. This could be another Custer's Last Stand Charge by the 15 who end up getting their butts kicked. They need to do more than sign some letter we have not seen. Unite with a press conference, speak up for a replace Obamacare plan to lower costs and save jobs based on free market solutions. Shine the light. Show us this Lee letter is no stunt but is a serious effort for the economy.
We should really push this. Burn the phone lines.
The author apparently still thinks the Republicans constitute a distinct political party whereas the Republican Party was years ago acquired by and operates as a wholly owned subsidiary or the Democrat Party.
I contacted Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson and asked him why his name was not on the list of those who would vote to de-fund “odumbocare”. Now I await the outcome or Sen. Johnsons response.
It is not about health care it is about hiring more bureaucrats to watch the providers provide the health care.
Can you say TSA, DHS, EPA, OSHA, BATF n E and ths list gets longer and longer.......
Of course these people, the lucky few get paid to essentially do nothing productive.
It is what government should be.
Did the same with my Texas Congressman Sam Johnson, and no response. I believe the reason is that his nose is permanently affixed to John Boehner’s butt on all issues, and he fears John Boehner more than he fears his constituents.
I have no more faith in her and realize now that my emails to her have zero impact.
New Hampshire has no Republican, let alone Conservative representation in Washington DC.
Does no good to burn up the phone lines; they don’t listen. Writing doesn’t help either; the elite know better than us God and gun clingers.
We need to take a page out of the Left’s playbook. When there is something they don’t like, they make it personal. They have no problem staking out the politician’s house, publishing photos and harassing them. THAT gets their attention.
And for the NSA trolls, FU.
I think people are calling, because I just tried to call one of my senators, who is on the list, and had to leave a message. I need to call the other one and ask him what his problem is. My daughter and I worked on his campaign, and now he is flaky on some issues.
Never put your confidence in politicians. (I know, that’s a Duh!)
