Didn't A&F have a similar problem in the USA a few years ago, when it was claimed their catalog did not feature enough minorities?
As for this current issue, how could government possibly prohibit "looks discrimination"? Are they going to require that Victoria's Secret hire fat women and men to model their clothes?

says that ugly, fat people should be allowed a job too.”
...did the UFP Association complain?

I suspect they’re the ones behind the action.

Good points. And what about Hooters? Will the be forced to hire fat ugly chicks?
As an aside - I do remember a story about a Hooters waitress that had some serious surgery. She lost her hair and and her looks and stuff like that. Hooters wouldn’t hire her back.
She sued. She lost.

feminism was established to provide ugly women easier access to the mainstream of society.

What’s the legal definition of ‘ugly’ and ‘good looking’? There isn’t any, so the law has to keep its hands off.

Whats the legal definition of ugly and good looking? To paraphrase Justice Potter Stewart, "I can't define ugly, but I know it when I see it."

Good point.

LOL! I remember A&F from the days when it was a true upscale outdoors clothing and hunting equipment supplier. Very upscale. It even offered complete safari hunting packages to include guns, ammo, guides, and formal dining tent with linen table cloth and silver service. Its gun library was absolutely eye-poping. The only “gun store” I had ever seen where the all customers wore suits and ties. Wandered into one a few years back (it had been a while). Surprise! Definitely not your daddy's A&F.

I work for a company with many retail outlets, as well as a large call center staff. (and I'm in a small outpost of engineering, so I don't count).
Anyway, we occasionally have company outings and such. It is amazing the difference in look between the sales people and call center people. The sales folks are almost all twenty-something reasonably to very attractive people. The call center folks are generally homely or fat to approaching morbidly obese. The sales folks dress to the nines, and wear their clothes well. The call center folks frankly look like slobs.
Not sure if my company hires for looks, but it sure seems that you are good looking, you can get a job in sales. If you are not, you get shunted to the call center.

As part of a lawsuit, the "Rule Book" for Abercrombie's CEO's private jet were released, among them:
The four models or actors who work as cabin attendants must never respond to Matthew (the CEO) or Michael (his Partner, and I don't mean as in business) , as the manual refers to Jeffries and Smith, by saying anything but a friendly "no problem." Phrases like "sure" or "just a minute" are not permitted. Crew members are provided with a specific uniform by Abercrombie & Fitch: jeans, boxer briefs, polo shirts and flip flops. When it is 50 degrees or colder outside, all crew members are required to wear winter coats. The jacket should be zipped up to the "forth button from the bottom," the manual specifies. "The lowest button should be left undone," it says.
Hats, meanwhile, are against the rules unless the temperature is below 40 degrees. When they are worn, brims must be two-inches thick and pulled down "approximately in the middle of the forehead."
Male staff (yes, only males) should "spritz" their uniforms with Abercrombie & Fitch #41 cologne "throughout the duration of the shift."
