And the House leadership should ignore it and show it all the respect it deserves.
This doesn’t sound right. The Minority Party cannot hold a congressional hearing without permission from the majority/majority chairman.
They can hold “conferences” on a subject, which they did with the Communist Party and the marxist Institute for Policy Studies back in the 1970s (i.e. “Congressional Conference on Cuba”, sponsored by Ted Kennedy and Harold Hughes (the clueless one). The Communist Party ran the show, as seen when CPUSA leader Michael Meyerson ran around the hearing room talking to pro-Castro/pro-communist “speakers” and “panelists’.
We exposed this fraudulent affair in “Human Events” weekly back in 1974. Another so-called hearing was held on defense/foreign policies by another set of CPUSA dominated tax-exempt front groups.
Beware of the Democrats. They are the biggest frauds in American political history, and proud of it.
