House Ethics Committee Investigating Rep. Michele Bachmann
CBS ^ | 7/26/13

Posted on 07/26/2013 9:33:32 AM PDT by SoFloFreeper

The House Ethics Committee is launching a full-tilt investigation of Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota.

The committee announced on Friday it had received a referral from the Office of Congressional Ethics, an independent investigative body, and said in a brief statement that it would formally investigate the one-time Republican presidential candidate.

A lawyer for Bachmann had previously acknowledged the investigation by the OCE and said that Bachmann was cooperating. That probe is focused in part on her short-lived presidential bid.

FREEPERS didn’t want her.

Most Freepers simply preferred others to her. I love her as a rep, love her feistiness, her unabashed conservatism, etc, but asking a congresscritter (who lives to propose or debate law) to become an executive type is asking a lot. She was about fourth on my list in the beginning behind Palin (if she had run), Cain (if he hadn't been destroyed), Newt, and the outside possibility of Perry.

Had she won I would have supported her 100%, rather than the position I took which was above all we needed to get rid of Bambi. Btw, she was one of the first of those to drop out to endorse Romney and warn us against the reelection of Bambi.

It’s not like the committee doesn’t have a lot of other deserving criminals in congress that they could “investigate”.

Romney....Yuk. So we ended up with a Community Organizer. Great...glad that they didn’t get their “awful congresscritter (as you called her).

It was said that Boehner’s people threatened to dump her form her intelligence committee seat a year or so ago.

She is a Tea Party thorn in the side of the RINO Speaker.

Then she announced she would not run again in 2014 which allowed her to join a group that put the Speaker on notice about following the Hastert Rule regarding immigration reform.

Now she is facing an ethics investigation.

This has Boehner written all over it.

She is also the one to warn us about the Trojan Horse method of delivering any immigration bill to a conference with the Senate bill.

We will all miss her as a congresscritter, I imagine this is simply another shot across the bow of unabashed and unapologetic conservatives like her.

Ahhhh, I liked her and would have voted for her, but during the debates she appeared to me like a crazy person.....

lol. Instead we got a REAL crazy person. I know some were concerned with her, but dang getting a community organizer instead of a great conservative is a rough result.

I’m guessing she’ll end up as a conservative talking head on one of the cable news nets.

And maybe down the road, when this is behind her, she’ll gear up for a Senate run.

Say what ever happened to those investigations of Maxine Waters and Charlie Rangel, what were the results of those?

Did those make the *BIG* MSM news?

“Moderate” FReepers happily Alinskyed her and every other conservative in the race. They were “concerned” about her migraines, and “worried” that her husband might be gay, and “outraged” that she would drill for oil in the Everglades.

I see them starting to ooze back in as the elections approach.

Or, maybe who/what ever controls Bammy also controls the GOP.

Romney wasn't on my list, if you didn't notice.

You also forget that SHE very quickly endorsed Romney, unlike Perry who dropped out later and endorsed Newt.

I'm sorry, I think she was a great congresscritter (not awful as you are pretending), but would have been destroyed much quicker than anyone on my list other than Cain.

I thought she simply wasn't ready, needed to gain executive experience, and still think that. She would have been totally destroyed, not just beat badly as Romney was.

That being said, had she won (get over it, she was the first to drop out, hardly a contender) I would have been behind her 100% as our candidate.

i almost feel sorry for all of her leftist tormentors. they just can’t stop themselves. their continual fear drives them on and on.

they think they are going to cancel her future political career or aspirations by demonizing, by besmirching, by demoralizing her. they don’t understand that when you wear the armor of God, nothing of this world can phase you. if she continues along God’s path for her, she’ll be fine.

Yes. We KNOW - and this is old knowledge, actually, that both the Bush dynasty, the Kennedys, the Clintons and a lot of their hangers-on have been part of a greater conspiracy.

It includes people like Marc Rich, those Asian friends of Clinton, and lots of the European elite.

Again, a lot of this is here on FR, some of it in archives not online today, I think. But it is a fascinating “big picture”. And FR actually has professional historians who might be able to tell the story.

I was very disappointed in Bachmann for voting against the bill to cut funding for a nefarious anti American citizen files program.
