There is no way I would describe David Cameron as “conservative”
Perhaps what is needed in the UK is more tort lawyers. Can you imagine the lawsuits if a US hospital left patients in soiled beds, stuck in ambulances etc. Maybe we should export a few thousand tort lawyers to the UK.
The one thing no one brings up when discussing the Obamacare death panels is the government revenue of 40% of the patient’s private retirement if he/she dies.
It has already been discussed that economics would play a role in determining who would receive what services as soon as rationing is started. It being clear that someone who has a long taxpaying life ahead of them would be a better investment than a retiree.
But if you factor in the bonus the government receives from 40% the patient’s private IRA or 401(k) if he dies - that is an incentive to ensure as many baby boomers as possible die before using up the money they saved, so the government can get their hands on it.
Is it just a coincidence that the total private retirement accounts of the US total around 17 trillion, and Obama says that with a debt of 16 trillion, we have plenty of money?
Please think this thought through.
That Kate Middleton and Prince William did not use Britain’s NHS to have their baby should tell people something.
more focused on meeting government-imposed targets than on patient care.
Hooray Socialism!
This is true of all communist run orgs. In the old Soviet Union factories would gauge their output depending on the mandates by the government. For instance a nail manufacturing plant might have their quota set for pounds of nails per month, in that case they would produce only one size nail, the largest possible. If the quota was in number of nails, again only one size, the smallest nail possible. Such is the way of socialism.
In the case of healthcare, the object is to spend as little as possible on each patient, therefore who cares if they patient is actually receiving care? Let them die, the books will balance and make the commissars happy.
