New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Thursday took a big swing at libertarian-leaning lawmakers in both parties, calling the ideology, when applied to national security, a very dangerous thought. His comments come just one day after the House narrowly rejected a sweeping amendment to defund the National Security Agencys surveillance program.
Addressing the bipartisan coalition that joined together to nearly push the so-called Amash amendment through, Christie told lawmakers who harbor libertarian views on the issue to explain their position to the victims of 9/11, the Washington Posts Aaron Blake reports. He also included Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) in his critique.
As a former prosecutor who was appointed by President George W. Bush on Sept. 10, 2001, I just want us to be really cautious, because this strain of libertarianism thats going through both parties right now and making big headlines, I think, is a very dangerous thought, Christie said.
The governor proceeded to use an emotional argument to make his case, inviting any one of them thats engaged in this apparently dangerous strain of libertarianism to come to New Jersey and sit across from the widows and the orphans and have that conversation.
Im very nervous about the direction this is moving in, Christie added.
What about the raging debate regarding the balancing of privacy and national security? Some of that debate is esoteric, according to Christie.
He had kind words to say about the national security strategies of both President Barack Obama and former President George W. Bush.
Do we have amnesia? the New Jersey Republican asked. Because I dont. And I remember what we felt like on Sept. 12, 2001.
Christie made the comments while attending the Republican Governors Associations summer meeting in Aspen, Colo.
Well, that was quite an intelligent response.
I hereby retract my sarcastic “Sharpshooter” allegation and I learned something.
The ironic thing is that “Islam” is NOT A RACE, it’s a very dangerous cultist ideology, “Islam” is more of a NATION than anything. And perhaps the most dangerous threat to face the world ever, once Islamists start taking over areas of western civilization and getting Sharia law imposed, and all the atrocities being committed and possibly more worse terrorist attacks than 9/11 happen. I believe that people might start seeing the bigger picture and fighting Islam wherever it rears its head. But by then it may be too late.
Screw this guy.
I had enough of this fat blow-hard. I can’t wait until he tries to run for POTUS and then falls flat on his bloated face down South and out West.
Why worry about radiation at all. A Bunker buster at the base of the dam would have the same affect.
What, you mean with those 19 illegal alien Saudis running loose in the country? How did that happen, fat man?
IMHO, Gov. Christie and Sen. Paul is each more intelligent and a greater patriot than fat-ass Hillary. I would vote for EITHER to keep her from continuing Obama’s war against the middle class.
And let’s not forget that well-paid Obama-bots have already started their campaign of dirty-tricks directed against ALL Republicans...
10 half-lives of the longest-lived isotope, or roughly one tenth of a percent of the original radiation.
...goes as 1/2,1/4,1/8 so...
10 half lives = 1/210 = 1/1024 or a bit more than a thousandth.
And the 5th...
If he is so scared he could roll up in bed with a bottle of vodka, a doughnut and a Springsteen tune. Some of us are not addicts, Chris. We can actually be self reliant and don’t need daddy Obama to soothe our brow.
You fat pig.
Chrisie...sit down (if you can find a chair large enough for your fat butt) and shut up!!
(although I think some libertarian ideas are a bit nutty myself...think Ron Paul. LOL)
Yeah, but then you don’t get the boiling flood/live steam “cleansing the Nile Valley” effect. . .
