CONCORD -- Earlier this year, Contra Costa County won the right to run a health care call center, where workers will answer questions to help implement the president's Affordable Care Act. Area politicians called the 200-plus jobs it would bring to the region an economic coup. Now, with two months to go before the Concord operation opens to serve the public, information has surfaced that about half the jobs are part-time, with no health benefits ...
The Contra Costa County supervisor whose district includes the call center called the whole hiring process -- which attracted about 7,000 applicants -- a "comedy of errors."
"The battle for the call center was over jobs with good working wages and benefits; I never dreamed they would be part-time," said Karen Mitchoff...
The new hires, many of whom left other full-time jobs for the call center positions, were told they were the "cream of the crop," the recent hire said...
During negotiations months ago, Service Employees International Union Local 1021, which represents the customer service agents, demanded 80 percent of health insurance premiums be paid by the county, and 20 percent be paid by the employee. SEIU did not return a call for comment.

Oh the hugh irony.
I have to send this to some of my libtard relatives. Makes them so mad at me they don’t talk to me.
Wonder if any of those 100 languages is English?
Prolly not.
Obamacare doesn’t want to cover its employees healthcare!
lol!!
The Unions are starting to figure out that the workweek is actually 60 hours. The days of the 40 hour workweek are over. You will need TWO 30-hour part time jobs to be able to pay for the mandated healthcare insurance. Plus, if you guess wrong predicting how much you will make the next year, you will pay a penalty - if you are too high or too low in your estimate. We....are.....so.....screwed. The conventional wisdom - on both sides of the aisle - is that we CANNOT shut down ObamaCare. I think we NEED to shut down ObamaCare.
California is up to its eyeballs in illegals, and Concord is on the eastern edge of coastal ultraliberal potemkim village enclaves that get narrower each year. Obamacare will devestate small business there in an already faltering economy. All you good lurking libs will pay when Los Gatos eventually becomes a rundown slum.
So, if a company has one hundred employees and half of them are part time, do they still have to offer insurance to the other half?
And what’s with this 80% crap. I thought obamacare dictated what is paid.
The company has to offer insurance to the 50 percent that are full time if the company employs more than 50 people full time. The SEIU just self-screwed.
