The community just needs more organizin’ n agitatin’ n stuff. Forget about being upstanding citizens, speaking English, behaving, getting an education, being punctual, not carrying a chip on your shoulder, and leading a moral and straight life.
I know of a bright young black man who stuttered terribly and basically, could not speak two words without beginning to stammer. His mother said he would grow out of it and refused to take him to “paid For” speech therapy. His grades suffered when he was required to speak. He went to the local community college and became certified in physical therapy but was unable to communicate to his patients well enough to be successful.
He now works in a retail store for minimum wage. I’m glad he has a job.....hope he does well.
