ORLANDO, Fla. —

Hundreds of people in Florida are under investigation, accused of getting fake licenses to be gun-carrying security guards.

Five people were accused of forging the documents, which would allow an armed security guard to be hired in airports, courthouses and other public places.

One of the people arrested was Gertrude Brun, 54, who owned her own security school, called Brun Protective Security Training School in Orlando.

Several of the people arrested were instructors and even held armed security positions.

"There could be as many as 350 security guards who have bogus licenses to carry guns.

Investigators have arrested five people, including two from Orlando and Kissimmee.

According to the state, those hundreds of illegally licensed armed security officers could get jobs in ports, jails, airports and courthouses."

First thing I thought of was the Red Army Faction from Germany.

Wasn’t there a Nigerian up in NJ or somewhere like that, who had a fake ID and was hired to work as a supervisor at the airport? Not that long ago?

Those people would be exempt from the crackdown.

I’m sure that somehow the Leftists will be able to use this story as a way to attempt to deprive law abiding citizens from having more guns.

Never mind it looks more like an Islamist plot than anything.

>> The [G] license is a step up from being a concealed-weapons permit holder.

Depends on where you get the training. I got mine at Miami Dade College; the training was superb.

OTOH, Florida’s CCW “training requirements” are a joke - the industry is populated by no-talent gun shop trolls and bottom feeders. Coffee and Donut (sorry - no time for DonutS) are the norm. An hour or two of BS war stories, then one .22 cartridge shot into a sand-filled barrel and you’re done.

Even courses run by cops have stooped to new lows - from personal experience, the most easily corrected problems - “teacupping”, pushing, fingering and thumbing - are ignored.

NRA’s “First Steps Pistol Orientation” (repeat: Orientation; NOT a course) is about the best you can hope for - most “instructors” use the NRA “Home Firearm Safety” course, if anything at all.

My quals: Current sworn state-certified LE firearms instructor, “K” license holder, Senior Training Counselor for a national pro 2nd amendment organization, ex sworn Federal officer.

Not only that, Balding_Eagle, but it's further proof of "anthropogenic global warning," and maybe even proof George W. Bush committed war crimes for oil.

All the news point toward a rapid decay of basic human rights, such as the right that law enforcement aren’t criminals.

The constant erosion makes me wonder if this was what pre-war Germany was like, people shrugging off indications of political slavery, saying, “It isn’t that bad or it will get better.”

Trouble is, I don’t know what to do.
