CNN’s Don Lemon Backs Up Bill O’Reilly: ‘He Doesn’t Go Far Enough’ In Criticizing Black Culture
Mediaite ^ | July 27, 2013 | Evan McMurry

Bill O’Reilly’s remarks on race last week drew heavy criticism from Chris Hayes, Bill Maher, Al Sharpton, Larry Wilmore, and more, but one unlikely person is agreeing with him: CNN host Don Lemon.

Lemon addressed the wounds inflicted by black males onto their community on his “No Talking Points” segment Saturday afternoon, saying he was able to bring this up now that the George Zimmerman trial had concluded. Before the verdict, right wing media had consistently asked why the “liberal media” was fixating on Trayvon Martin while ignoring rampant black-on-black violence, a “deflection,” in Lemon’s words, from the injustices of the Martin shooting. But now that Zimmerman had been acquitted, it was time “for some tough love on the subject.”

Lemon played a clip of O’Reilly stating, “The reason there is so much violence and chaos in the black precincts is the disintegration of the African American family…Raised without much structure, young black men often reject education and gravitate towards the street culture, drugs, hustling, gangs. Nobody forces them to do that. Again, it is a personal decision.”

“Bill’s got a point,” Lemon said. “In fact, he’s got more than a point…In my estimation, he doesn’t go far enough.”

Lemon then listed five essential reforms black men need to make in their lives in order to improve themselves and their communities: hike up their pants, remove the n-word from their vocabulary, take care of their communities, finish high school, and lower the rate of children born out of wedlock.

“More than 72% of children in the African Americans are born out of wedlock,” Lemon said. “Studies show that lack of a male role model is an express train right to prison, and the cycle continues.”....

“There is no pattern in these types of crimes."

Really? Seems like it's always a pack of black guys attacking a non-black person, usually a white person. My dog can crack this pattern.

How dumb are the Trayvonistas? As long as the don’t yell “This is for Trayvon!”, the police could pawn off this hate crime as “a robbery gone wrong” or “just bored teens” like they do for the multitude of other times that black guys mob attack white people. It makes it kind of difficult for police to play ‘hide the hate crime’ when the criminals yell their purpose.

It's sad and pathetic when basic obvious in-your-face-fundamental truth cannot be spoken.

How many decades have we lived with the malignancy of black families and culture in decline?!

A slow motion train wreck we all saw coming. Yet we were powerless to stop it.

You are more right than you know. Modernity is mostly just rationalized (and then subsidized) sexual promiscuity

We all know strong the sex drive is. For millenia one of the functions of religion was to contain it. Christianity - forget whether you believe it or not - was the summit of the evolution of religion as the container of libido. It struck the perfect balance between warnings of divine anger and a positive, flesh-affirming view of sex within heterosexual marriage. This is the only recipe for channeling the sex drive. No secular worldview is capable of producing the slightest force to countervail the urge to throw off all fidelities and copulate. And that is very, very bad for civilization, because it produces children raised without fathers.

And - pay attention - girls without fathers, or good fathers, become “girls gone wild”, as they desperately seek the admiration from a male gaze which a virtuous father would supply, even as he taught her that she need not throw away her princess-hood to get it.

Boys without fathers become animals, predators in the streets who band into gangs for protection. They’ll devolve into tribalism, committing atrocities in thrall to a clan chief (faux-father). A boy needs a father to grab him by the arm at an early age and say “men don’t behave like that. Straighten up or I’ll kick your ass.” Boys instinctively know they need this, and always feel gratitude in later years for a tough but loving father.

So Christendom, that unrealized ideal, realized in fragments and imperfect hybrids here and there, for all its flaws, was the cradle of science and civilization alike.

I need to be clear here: I am not talking about a male-dominated society or a patriarchy. The Christian father rules by strength through love and a service attitude (people should actually READ St. Paul). Islam is not capable of creating a great civilization because the Muslim father (like Allah) rules by force, and seeks to perpetuate the rule of his sons over all females. It’s all just a pre-civilized tribal structure with Allah at the top of a coercive pyramid. The Incarnation, that sole unique historical event, flipped the traditional religious pyramid upside down. The religion of Mohammed is not just a rival to Christ - it is the opposite. But this is not the day for comparative metaphysics - my point is about families. Only Christendom creates a civilization made of families.

Mothers - most mothers - simply cannot do their own part and also make up for the lack of the father. So single motherhood gradually erodes the culture from within, producing loose daughters who breed with predator sons, and it all spirals downward. The opposite of civilization. We see it now most advanced in Black culture in America, but that’s just because they are ahead of white culture by a few decades

The decadence of Black culture in America is completely explainable by the illegitimacy rate, and you cannot birth babies into homes without breadwinners unless there is money from somewhere. Money flows into the Black community unconnected to work in massive amounts. Give people free money, no matter what color their skin is, and they will devolve into a pre-civilized state. Again, since the strongest force held in check by the structures of civilization is sex, undisciplined sex and its sequelae is a most visible mark that civilization is collapsing

This is to simplify a bit, in order to exegete. Many individuals and families who may be Muslim or completely atheist do not fit this stereotypical analysis. I am not talking about them. I am generalizing, because the exceptions, even if there are many, are irrelevant. In every cultural group, the predictable future is the present mean.

Also, this has all occurred historically alongside the rest of America rapidly throwing off the yoke of Christendom, so other changes - like easy abortion - are proximate causes. And other racial and ethnic groups are tacking to and fro behind the Black community in the same direction, using the same winds. It’s just that the collective bad conscience from slavery accelerated the Black descent before all others.

The secularizing forces are really just in search of a state of being that has two features: 1. Free Sex, and 2. Free Money. That’s it. Secular man is nothing more than a spoiled teenager. In the West, our endgame is this condition of “terminal affluence”, where we all have free sex and free money. Modernity is just the drive toward subsidized promiscuity.

And it will be hell.

This has been all over FR for a long time. In some places it’s 80%.

Before the introduction of AFDC aka as “Unlce will pay you to make babies as long as you’re not married” the illegitimacy rate among blacks wsa 20%, among whites 2 to 3%. Now whites it’s about 17 to 20%, “Hispanics” about 40%, and blacks through the roof. And all the figures are rising.

All these children raised without married mother and father in the home are damaged. Some turn out okay, but the odds are vastly against them, especially in large cities with gang crap all around them. Enough studies have been done to show clearly that children raised by single mothers have terrible problems. Of course simple common sense tells us that as well.

If this does not change*, it basically will usher in, even if there was nothing else, destruction of our country.

*It will have to change because Uncle is running out of money and will not be able to support the dozens of millions forever. Not with 99 weeks of unemployment morphing into SSI, the others directly going to SSI, the 40% of the population (IIRC) on food stamps, and so on.

I was thinking of pinging this out and then saw Taliesan's comment. Excellent analysis and I agree in every particular but one - any authentic religion will also curb the animal sex drive and make it sacred within marriage, when not preventing conception. So sincere followers of authentic (ie not modernized into nonsense) Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism as well as Christianity will also share the same moral values and restraints. Islam is a whole 'nother ballgamem as he notes.

Anyone wanting on/off any of my pinglists, freepmail me.

But there is blame being attributed to whites for high black-on-black crime - Some people are trying to claim that anger over white racism causes blacks to lash out at other blacks. (No, I can’t make sense of it.)

Yep, I've heard that weak excuse, too. Yet African and Caribbean nations that have few whites and blacks in control have among the highest homicide and rape rates in the world. Likewise, American cities that have the highest percentage of black people and blacks in control have the highest homicide rates in America. Hard to argue that white racism is to blame for black violence when black violence increases dramatically where there are fewer whites and no whites in control.

Clarence Thomas’s family was abandoned by his father, his mother was dysfunctional and a drug user, and he was brought up by his grandparents. They were poor but worked hard running a tiny heating-oil delivery business in Savannah (where Clarence Thomas would get up before dawn to help his grandfather deliver oil before school), and he attended a Catholic school where the sisters told him he had to study hard and apply himself. The result? A Supreme Court Justice. And that’s not a role model?

Thanks for sharing...

It’s possible to break the cycle. Each person has to make a personal choice to continue the cycle or break it. Unfortunately, government has stacked the deck against morality. It’s a major sacrifice for a poor, black couple to decide to marry and raise their children without government assistance. The system discourages that, either intentionally or unintentionally (assuming that liberals truly want to help blacks and not just keep them down).

Nearly every government program designed to redistribute wealth could be better performed by private, voluntary charity. That includes everything from student loans to food aid. People that abuse the charity would quickly lose it. Those truly in need would find it.

We all have free choice, and doing the right thing isn’t necessarily easy. Nevertheless, I still maintain it’s possible for two people to take a stand and break the cycle of violence, broken families, and dependency. Go to virtually any Bible believing church, and you’ll find people who have done exactly that.

I envy them their denial.

I know what you mean.

I was just out of the country for about a month. It was the first time I had ever left these shores and felt absolutely apprehensive about returning. It felt really good to just block it all about for a month. Almost like it was someone else's nightmare.

“If Martin Luther King lived today, the single most important thing he could do would be to persuade black Americans to shun sex outside of marriage as if their lives depended on it.”

I often wondered what would have happened if King had started a revival instead of a rights movement.

In view that he couldn't keep it in his own pants, not much chance of it.

Don't get me wrong; I greatly admire his accomplishments and the moral purposes of his aims, which today's "commooonity" seems incapable of even understanding. But his partying with multiple loose women in motels while he was on the road? Not so much.

Taliesan's comment... Excellent analysis and I agree in every particular but one - any authentic religion will also curb the animal sex drive and make it sacred within marriage, when not preventing conception.

While this is theoretically true, pop culture, electronic media, the OneWorld financial/political incursion and secularist cultural Marxism are fast neutering or destroying all religions.

But I think Taliesan was referring not to the place of marriage within most religions so much as the history of world events that unfolded when Christian societies were dominant: the nearly two millenia when Christendom was ascendant in Europe, Australia, Canada, South America and the United States, starting even before the Arthurian courts and chivalry towards women, through the Renaissance, the Industrial Revolution and the outlawing of slavery, to the rise of our nation -- which sends armies to defend freedom itself, not to take hostages or territory.

As Taliesan pointed out, when the U.S. began allowing Christian-inspired social ethics to be thrown aside since WWII, down it has all swirled.

Really? Don Lemon, the guy who compared traditional marriage supporters to 1950s era racists? That’s surprising to me.

Right on target! The Morality and Character of “Sir” as played by Sidney Poitier is a standard that MEN, regardless of Race, should strive for.

Lemon is a gay man so he likely feels particularly emotional on the gay marriage issue.

Interestingly, it's probably also Lemon's homosexuality that makes him detest the gangsta culture more than other black guys. Gay black guys are generally far more preppy than their straight brethren, and the gangsta culture is generally anti-gay.

Whatever the reasons for Lemon's recent comments, good for him.
