Reminds me of that cooky “Hands Across America” where my entire family got in the car and met my cousins in Philadelphia to hold hands to symbolize the entire country holding hands from coast to coast. I guess I didn't realize how “socialistic” it was at the time....I was about 10.

I still don't get what that memorial is supposed to symbolize in terms of it's design. It looks like a grave to me.
It also looks like a target for spray paint tagging... which, honestly, I hope doesn't happen, but I suspect will happen once the melodrama dies down.
