You realize that getting married before having children and staying together is viewed by the black community as imposing white standards on black people, that anything similar like working and saving and not doing drugs and not running the streets is viewed as imposing white standards on black people and must be rebelled against. Timeliness is viewed as elastic, I mean everything is reduced to a matter of perception. It is a folking mess

There is no rule that is regarded as one that must be followed. Rules are suspect and made to be broken

And that’s why what little television viewing I do is almost always reruns from a time when that wasn’t true, or if it was at least it wasn’t in-your-face. Decent people were shown as decent people, and trashy people were either not seen or their trashy behavior was shown as trashy. Right is right, and wrong is wrong. I go out of my way to avoid having lies shoved down my throat. I don’t boycott every show with people I don’t agree with, but if I have a choice between Leave It To Beaver or The Fosters, guess what I’m watching.
