The car spun around and had rear ended a utility pole. There was a set of legs sticking out from underneath the car and someone had tried to jack up the rear of the car with a bumper jack that was leaning precariously. This was a full size automobile. The battery had shorted and the engine compartment was smoking.
I had an idea that we might be able to at least lift the rear of the car off the kid underneath. He was trapped under the rear axle. We all got into position and we picked that damn car up at least four feet into the air! It was the most amazing thing I have ever witnessed.
A medic who also happened upon the scene, slid the kid out from underneath the car. He actually was able to crawl underneath because of how high we had lifted it and carefully remove the child.
Everyone survived that was involved - at least six kids were thrown from the pickup which had overturned after it was struck.
It was a miracle none were killed that day.
