Turns out 'whiteness' doesn't rub off and make black kids better behaved.

Busing didn't work for black kids thrown into an environment where white kids were better academic competitors either. It reinforced feeling of inferiority and made it harder for black kids to compete. Busing also destroyed connections within the black community as kids were bussed outside neighborhoods.

Busing didn't work for the white community OR the black community. It DID work for white liberal elites who were allowed to feel 'Oh so superior'... but that was about it.
