Or made him a more hardened adult criminal. I worked at a Juvenal detention center for several years. It was a 50/50 toss up as to whether they would straighten up or just get more information for when they were back on the street

Maybe. It looks like he was headed towards a brief career as a hoodlum. He was already spinning the barrel on the loaded gun and pulling the trigger, forgive the metaphor. Unfortunately, the bullet was right under the hammer last year. If he hadn't gotten himself shot while assaulting Zimmerman, odds are he would have encountered other opportunities in the near future where he would have thrown away his life.
