Great. How about I get a tax break for not having any kids to play games? The answer to tax payers getting fleeced for soccer mom welfare is not to add more people with their hands out. Funny how this site gets lousy with suburban welfare queens when it comes to someone else paying to entertain their kids.
The difference between a homeschooling parent and a welfare queen is that the homeschooling parent is, generally speaking, a property owner, a taxpayer, and someone who is already shouldering the load for the rest of the members of society who aren't contributing anything.
If you want to truly solve this problem in a paleo-con kind of way (which I would be fine with), do away with every kind of public education jurisdiction above the community level. Do away with county, state, and federal mandates for education, and let every little down or every city neighborhood decide for themselves what they want to do for education (if anything), and how they're going to pay for it.
This is the "Little House on the Prairie" model, and it is actually quite effective.
I see you probably learned comprehension at a public school. We homeschoolers ALREADY pay for this stuff. So do you. But. Too many school systems say we can't allow our children to play with the children who ARE ALL PAYING FOR THIS ALREADY!
