Does it have to? What percent of the clients would you estimate were female?

Difficult to say. whenever we get these cases women tend to be involved in recruiting and training the little ones.

They are rarely prosecuted to the extent the men are, but, (if you look at sources like statistics compiled by therapist organizations or abuse survivor recovery groups) about one third of child victims of sexual abuse report either female perpetrators or a mix of male and female perpetrators in therapy. Admittedly, just as compiling statistics only from people charged by the criminal justice system is inately biased - these statistics come only from people messed up enough to need outside help in coping.

But its a fair question. Buying a prostitute is less risky for the perv who wants sex with a kid than recruiting or kidnapping a kid themselves.
