The White House condemned on Monday the bloodshed and violence in Egypt but took no immediate steps to suspend U.S. military assistance to the country, Al Arabiya reported.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the weekend violence, in which 80 people were killed in Cairo, sets back the process of democratization in Egypt and does not square with the interim governments pledge to swiftly return to civilian rule.
Asked, however, if the violence would prompt the United States to suspend aid to Egypts military, Earnest said, I dont have any change in our posture to report to you today.

Hey, everybody! This is wonderful news! At last, long last, there's a city more dangerous than Chicago! [Rahm Emmanuel sends observers to Cairo to take notes and video footage. He does not care to be second best.]
What ObOzo and this adminstration have to say about Egypt is no longer relevant....only in relation to Israel... The EU has taken the lead....Ashton just spent two hours tonight with ‘Morsi’ in an undisclosed area... and all afternoon with other diplomats there in Egypt. So Omama has nothing to do with the outcome.
Further, the Arab countries have already contributed above and beyond the funding OBAMA withheld from Egypt...and that was already determined and agreed on, before the marches, as they understood the Revolution and consequences might mean the US witholds....so they covered their butts long ago and frankly don’t need anything from the US now.
Russia also stepped up to provide the military jets OBAMA withheld.
Bottom line is they’re all sticking their noses up to Obama.
Why would he want to aid Egypt when his Al Qaeda buddies are struggling?
That standing aid agreement goes back years ‘before Obama’.... in relation to giving Egypt the Saini etc....it was part of the deal to pay Egypt yearly to keep the peace between Egypt and Israel.
But then we know Obama keeps playing his cards wrong....he’s in a game way over his arrogant head and the world isn’t buying his trumped up speeches any longer....he’s seen simply as a bag of wind.
So we really DIDN’T see a coup in Egypt, huh? The aid just keeps on rolling.
Too bad we don’t have an opposition party to call Obummer out on this.
We used to have an opposition party, long ago.
