They really seem to believe that getting hurt feelings is an excuse for anything... I had the "Discussion" before I was a teenager...no fighting and no arguing with cops.
The only "discussion" I see evidence of from this "parent?"

My Daddy could get in your face with the best of them, when he retired at age 60 he had 42 years in various Army uniforms behind him.
I didn't always hear him then but I always hear him now.
