Long before there are internal movement controls there will be internal financial controls. Already states fight over whether you are a resident for purposes of income and estate taxation. The Federal government treats a forfeiture of citizenship as a taxable event, requiring you to pay income taxes on any unrealized gains of securities or property, just as if you'd sold them.

Next, the states will treat you that way, too. Want to retire to no-tax FL or TX--what percentage of your working years were spent in CT, NY, CA or MA? Send in tax on that percentage of your income or unrealized gains.

CT is surrounded by such liberty loving states as Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York. Connecticut, which Obama won by "only" an 18 point margin, is actually the most "conservative" state in the region.

Of course the entire leadership of the CT Republican Party officially endorses gun control, abortion and gay marriage and the state's last Republican governor raised taxes on the rich to fund social programs --> in other words CT Republicans are to the left of most Democrats in normal places.
