President Barack Obama told House Democrats Wednesday that his administration was looking at measures to help at-risk children, particularly minority youth — a move that comes in light of the verdict in the Trayvon Martin case earlier this month.
The topic surfaced from Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), who was the first House Democrat to ask the president a question when the Q&A section of the meeting on Capitol Hill began, according to sources inside the room. Cummings asked Obama what the administration’s next steps were for efforts to help black youth.
Cummings emphasized to the president that officials — with the nation’s focus on the issue after the verdict earlier this month — could not let the moment pass without action.
Obama told Cummings that it was a “good time” to examine disparities in the criminal justice system, and efforts to help black, Asian, and Hispanic men and boys. The president added that officials need to look at what can be done to aid at-risk youth in general.
“We’re doing that,” Obama said, according to a source in the room. The president said some solutions could come without having to pass legislation, and that he was consulting with Attorney General Eric Holder on what options the White House has on the matter, sources said.
Wednesday’s exchange came as congressional Democrats are working to put more focus on race relations, following the verdict in Martin’s death.
Two Democrats – Rep. Danny Davis (D-Ill.) and Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) recently launched the Congressional Caucus on Black Men and Boys, and the group hosted Martin’s father, Tracy Martin, at a forum last week. Meanwhile, the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee held a hearing on Tuesday called “A Conversation on Race and Justice in America.”
The Progressive/Democrat/Marxist/Racist Party doesn’t give a crap about helping black people. It’s all about race mongering to keep the “base” fired up. From 2000 to 2010, 14,000 black children under the age of 15 were murdered and 90% percent of those black children were killed by other blacks. Where has the outcry been about that?
Meanwhile, dozens of whites were being made the victim of the black “knock-out game.”

The speed and direction we’re going suggests that he’ll announce the creation of a new federally funded program for “at risk inner-city youth” which will include firearms/tactical training and spiffy uniforms.
So he is going to focus on minorities. The 0bama administration has been silent on this. If his focus on minorities is as effective as his focus on jobs, minorities are doomed.
Best way to help black youths is the same way you help all youths, GET THEM JOBS!
Give them something positive to work toward.
Give them back their self-esteem, earning their own way thru the world.

Race relations were 1000 times better before Obama’s reign and it will now take 50 years to repair the damage, if it’s even possible.

I’m sure some government organization will be formed to deal with it ‘cause the parents of those minority youths only care about the check they’re getting every month for them. It’s not like they actually parent the kids.

His Arrogance stated that to help black youth he was ordering in Federal Troops to police Chicago and the State of Illinois. Since the State and Chicago were completely corrupt and owned by organized crime and drug cartels he was using an Executive Order to take charge of the State and Chicago. All State, local and municipal officials are to turn themselves in to the nearest Federal Courthouse. Federal Troops were authorized to shoot to kill all drug cartel and gang members, including those working parttime for the state or city. The State Democratic party and State Employees Unions are considered organized crime units and subject to immediate arrest.
See, the life of black youths will immediately get better and longer.
