Since SNAP is a “Farm Program”, here is a modest proposal. Government buys US grown farm produce, meats and dairy at market price. Those who qualify currently for SNAP can go to the Government ran food pantry and get these (US grown only) farm products to supplement their food budget. Michelle can manage the menus and product availability to ensure her peeps have access to wholesome foods.
Of course, also shut off the damn EBT cards that are used for everything *but* food. I saw a guy buy a $50 bottle of bourbon with one just yesterday. I looked at my $20 bottle of Jim Beam and thought: “What a sucker I am going to work everyday.”
these articles never mention how much the program actually spends and if this cut is really just a reduction in the rate of growth over 10 years or something
