Rep. Peter King NY just stated on CNN that this is a threat unlike any he has seen since 0911/11. Could not give details but states that anyone in any part of the world should be on alert.

I was curious since one of my ‘kids’ is flying back to the US tomorrow from North Africa, then will be heading in 2 weeks to a heavily populated Muslim nation. So I went to the State Dept website for more info.

NOT A DAMNED THING on its home page about the terror threat and/or worldwide travel warning. BUT, there you can find Secy JFnK’s notice that , ‘effective immediately’ all visa and passport application applications of same sex married couples will be handled in the same manner as different-sex married couples.

I don’t feel worlds safer now.

Nope. They just need to justify NSA surveillance. If anything happens, or especially if anything is prevented, you can expect the public to made aware of the value of the role played by domestic surveillance and the collection of meta data.

Closing the embassies is likely related to the exploding situation in Cairo....the Egyptian military today (talk about an unreported story!) is moving heavily against the Muslim Brotherhood.....could create a firestorm in the near term.
