Don’t they know that liberal media is destined for failure?

People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. It is impossible indeed to prevent such meetings, by any law which either could be executed, or would be consistent with liberty and justice. But though the law cannot hinder people of the same trade from sometimes assembling together, it ought to do nothing to facilitate such assemblies; much less to render them necessary. - Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations (Book I, Ch 10)
It is particularly true of "People of the trade” of journalism that it is impossible to keep them from talking to each other. And the more so of the wire services, which are nothing else but communicators to/among journalists. Thus, the tendency of journalists to conspire against the public should be considered an inherent problem of democratic governance.
It is only to be expected that journalists will engage in propaganda which makes the public at large seem ignorant, gullible, prejudiced, and/or stupid compared to journalists and to politicians who enthusiastically go along to get along with journalists. And equally, it is only to be expected that journalists would award such politicians flattering labels, and apply derisive ones to those who have regard for principles other than getting along with journalists.
