I certainly hope he does. I have no doubt if he had said the same about a conservative, he would be getting a promotion.

Not sure if a wrongful termination suit would prevail, but a liberal scorned could do significant damage if turned from the dark side.

There was a reporter around 2000 or so, in Burlington VT, working for The Burlington [not so] Free Press, a Gannett rag, that reported on not being allowed into a [city] public meeting about "addressing the issues of women of color" or the like.

Others had the same problem, too, because they weren't female, or let alone non-white.

Under the laws, public meetings are open to the public.

The mayor, who didn't like the whistle being blown on the city's illegal actions, called the paper...and they fired the reporter [for exposing law-breaking].

He got a hefty settlement from Gannett with a gag condition.
