Correct. And being in handcuffs is an "arrest" for purposes of the Miranda warning. Statements given while in handcuffs will generally be suppressed, with the exception of "exigent circumstances."

Well I am exaggerating a bit on ‘all day’, but they can go on for a long time. That guy on FR that was carrying that rifle in Nashville has over 10 minutes of ‘detained’ on camera while they go through his stuff.
