The terror threat prompting the U.S. government to close nearly two dozen embassies and consulates Sunday is the most specific, credible threat information in years, CBS News senior correspondent John Miller reports.

Intelligence officers have reporting from a reliable source that a major plot is under way and that the team to carry it out has been selected and is in place, Miller reports.

I suspect there is a lot of strategizing going on. If a terrorist attack occurs, he has to do something dramatic - earthshakingly dramatic to pull out of the Benghazi pit he has dug so deep.

I could be wrong - and I hope I’m not - but I think this is all for show.

Ramadamadingdong, which ends next week, is always a dangerous time because Muslims love to celebrate their “holy days” with killing, and the “holier” the day, the more killings there will be. So I don’t think it took a genius to figure out that forecasting danger, with or without the supposed intercepts of AQ “chatter,” would not be out of line.

Polling must be bad on Benghazi and Obama’s other screw-ups, so he’s probably hoping this will get him security brownie points. Either that or scare us. But I’m not sure either one of those plans will work.

Now if the US government had done something to stop those jailbreaks that freed over 2,000 AQ terrorists in the last week alone, or something to strengthen the anti-Islamic forces, or even something to crush jihadis in our own country and let them know terrorism is not okay - something like taking Hassan out and shooting him - I might be more impressed. But this impresseth me not.

As I say, I hope I’m right. But if I’m not, and there really is an attack, it’s because Obama has done nothing but coddle these Islamic radicals for the last 5 years.

So just what does it mean to “close an embassy”? Does EVERYONE leave? Or does that just mean closed for business? Are guards left behind to secure it, or is it totally abandoned, and we just have to come back at some later time to see if it is still there? If it is abandoned, how are sensitive documents inside secured?
