I find it odd that they mention the colors of cars and caps but no physical description of the perp. With so many eyewitnesses who got up close and personal with him/her it is strange to leave out such an important fact.
On Twitter, some apparently black people called him a version of the N-Word, which might mean something.
Given as this was Venice Beach, it could just be a stoner druggie.
It's sad, but we are so justifiably suspicious of the media now that whenever they withhold information, that's what comes to mind. And it's usually the case, although the fact that he turned himself in later suggests just garden variety crazy.

Thank you for posting that video. The fellow looks pretty white to me. I wonder if this is more of an Adam Lanza type, young, on psychotropic drugs for ADHD or something... that’s a possibility, although it wouldn’t explain why they are protecting his identity.
He was described as having “light brown hair,” although it’s hard to tell (because of the time of day and the angle) what color it was. However, he does look like a sort of standard model young white guy of no particularly identifiable ethnic group.
There’s nothing that prevents him from being a Muslim convert or even from a traditionally Muslim European group (such as Bosnian) or even Chechen, some of whom are very fair skinned.
He could, as you say, just be a young white psycho. But it is odd that they’re not releasing his name.

That they aren’t saying who he is does suggest ROP. That he turned himself in suggests GVC (garden variety crazy.) I’ll be interested to see which it is, because it does sound like it’s down to those two.
