I Guarantee they are not listing to you talk to Aunt Mabel about your Christmas plans.

I really don't give a rats ass.

They have shown by word and deed that they don't give a damn about the 4th amendment. The agencies involved should be dismembered and many current employees should be rotting in jail.

Snowden is an ethically challenged individual who is closer to being a traitor than a whistleblower. But the whistleblower/traitor is difficult because he is blowing the whistle on a traitor.

You are taking Snowdens word for that.

Uh, try reading the article on the NSA and its surveillance capabilities (and more) in the July issue of "Wired", a mag primarily for tech geeks. Due to things NOT included (Snowden), it was surely written before Snowden made his "revelations". Does the article scare you? It darn well should.

...but this sort of thing is tremendously wasteful.

When did that ever stop them?

Court orders would still be needed to sift through it.

FISA for example. (Rubberstamp.)

Good heavens - I don’t intend to be mean, but how uninformed ARE you?

Wiki (def): A web site developed collaboratively by a community of users, allowing any user to add and edit content.

There are many such. Wikileaks has no organizational connection to Wikipedia, other than that essentially anyone, including Wikileaks members, can post info. on Wikipedia (and might well be challenged by other Wikipedia users as to source and veracity.)

Taken as a group, the Wikipedia “community” tilts moderately left, but confusing them with Wikileaks is, well... “uninformed” is the gentlest word I can think of.

Granted that what I myself know is exceeded by several orders of magnitude by what I do not know. :-)
