Wendy Davis Calls Abortion “Sacred Ground,” May Run for Governor
Life News ^ | August 5, 2013 | Steven Ertelt

Posted on 08/05/2013 2:56:38 PM PDT by NYer

During a speech and press conference today, pro-abortion Texas lawmaker Wendy Davis said she would consider running for governor. The abortion activist also pulled a page from Nancy Pelosi’s playbook by calling defending late-term abortions “sacred ground.”

“I’ll seek common ground – we all must – but sometimes you have to take a stand on sacred ground,” Davis said during her press conference — referring to her filibuster to stop a bill to ban abortions after five months.

Reporters asked Davis if she supported any limits on abortions and she responded that she did not — saying she supports current federal law.

Davis has been the subject of considerable speculation as to whether she would run for the Democratic nomination for governor and take on likely Republican nominee Gregg Abbott, a pro-life advocate who is currently the state attorney general.

“I can say with certainly that I will run for one of two offices: my state sen seat or the governor,” she said at the press conference.

Despite the fact that unborn children have no voice, Davis talked about finding hers.

. @WendyDavisTexas: Discovering you have a voice is a powerful feeling. I know because I remember when I discovered my own.

— EMILY’s List (@emilyslist) August 5, 2013

During the press conference, pro-life advocates challenged Davis on Twitter:

Davis: “Every Texan deserves a voice… future belongs to all” Except 5 month old babies in the womb? #npclunch — Susan B Anthony List (@SBAList) August 5, 2013

Shorter Wendy Davis: I’ll use pro-family and pro-woman platitudes to cover up my support for abortion at six months or more. #NPClunch — Steven Ertelt (@StevenErtelt) August 5, 2013

#npclunch Wendy Davis wants common ground. Hard to get more common ground than 20 wk #abortion limit supported by maj of Americans #prolife

— Susan B Anthony List (@SBAList) August 5, 2013

Simple question: Does Wendy Davis support ANY limit to abortion — if not at 20 weeks — up to the moment of birth? #npclunch

Like @NancyPelosi Wendy Davis considers late term abortion “sacred ground.” #abortion #npclunch — Mary Powers (@mary_e_powers) August 5, 2013

Wendy wants “common ground,” what about limiting #abortion in the SIXTH month? — mallory quigley (@mallorytq) August 5, 2013

.@WendyDavisTexas claims to be a voice for the people, I guess just except for voiceless unborn people. #npclunch

Thankfully, Texans got a good, diabolical look at Wendy’s minions last month - and she has a snowball’s chance in Hell of getting elected governor.

I hope her constituents also have had quite enough of this vile wench so she doesn't get re-elected. Somehow we wound up being in her district - I hate to think what's happening in Fort Worth that a Wendy Davis could win any office.

Her use of the term “sacred” is an extremely important lesson for conservatives. The left views abortion as the most sacred of acts. It is above all other acts. If you remember that, you will be able to predict and understand the behavior of leftist women regarding abortion, behavior that would otherwise seem extreme.
The left sees abortion as an act that creates, not destroys. They see it as creating a fervant and extreme leftist supporter. A female who aborts needs support and acceptance—the left provides it.

Quinn is right. Abortion is a sacrament of the Feminist Church.

Way back in the early 1990s, Rush Limbaugh observed that "Abortion is the sacrament of the feminist religion." And as wildandcrazyrussian points out, abortion is indeed sacred to Moloch.

Our society has tiptoed near the line for years, but now that we have crossed it we are sprinting straight toward the devil. Proud and defiant, we show no signs of remorse, let alone any desire to repent. As a student of history, human nature and the Bible, I fear that God's righteous judgment is near.

Great news, she’ll draw in big money from around the US to a losing campaign.

Money that won’t go to races that are close.

RUN Wendy RUN!!

To a liberal, abortion is sacred ground. In the leftist worldview that excludes the existence of a loving Creator and moral accountability, liberals worship self. Killing a baby in a barbaric manner for convenience’s sake is the most vile manifestation of their selfishness, so they must cloak the truth with terms like “choice,” “women’s health,” and “reproductive rights” to deceive the sheeple. For godless liberals, however, sex without consequences is more important than human life.

It's called election fraud. It's no coincidence that our voter I.D. law was invalidated in time for the election and Davis "re-winning" her seat. The margin was tight, but between the fraud that I'm SURE was perpetrated and the gerrymandered district lines unconstitutionally imposed by a court, not as required by legislative operation, Mark Shelton couldn't overcome the corruption.

Yes, I'm unfortunate to reside in District 10 as well, and I gave her office an earful when she was flapping her gums for 13 hours. I told them that I would be filibustering her phone lines as long as she was filibuster the senate floor. I know I exasperated some of her phone drones - they were volunteers from a local abortion "rights" organization - but Davis was standing on the side of Satan and I wasn't going to stand for it.

Portraying Jesus as a homosexual, crucifixes in urine, desecrating the American flag? None of this is treading on sacred ground to a liberal. But killing babies IS a cherished, high holy sacrament of liberalism.

Why don’t women just ask for the right to kill their babies sometime in its first month of having been born.

That way they get a chance to look at it see what gender it is, maybe get some idea of who the Daddy was and whether he was black or white, and whether or not he will support the baby.

Makes a lot more sense to have it born naturally, and wring it’s neck in a month than to endanger the mother by mashing it up in the uterus and suck out the pieces.

This is why I always call BS when leftists treat us to tedious lectures about how "no right is unlimited" and how the government has a "compelling interest to strike a balance" blah blah blah.

There really is little or no hope for America’s future if the majority of voters share these decadent values.

Being as the low lifers elected Odumbo twice now, you are right. I think America's future could be bleak. I will even go so far as to say that I think Odumbo is God's judgement on America for its sins.
