Its as backwards as pineapple upside-down cake.
Disgraced chef and Georgia native Paula Deen is more popular among Republicans in her home state than civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr., a shocking new poll revealed Wednesday.
Nearly 75% of Georgia GOPers had a favorable opinion of the celebrity chef, who has suffered a stunning fall from grace after she admitted to using the N-word, compared to the 59% of Peach State Republicans who had a favorable view of King Jr., according to a new poll from left-leaning Public Policy Polling.
Only 11% of those polled had an unfavorable view of Deen, while nearly 30% felt unfavorably toward King
The poll, which took place earlier this week, surveyed 520 Georgia voters by telephone.
The 66-year-old Deen, who had starred in Paulas Best Dishes and Paulas Home Cooking, was dumped by the Food Network earlier this summer after an admission she made in a deposition that she had repeatedly used the N-word went public.
Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers are being sued by former employee Lisa Jackson, who alleged sexual harassment and a hostile work environment at Deen and Hiers restaurant, Uncle Bubbas Seafood and Oyster House.
Just a few weeks later after the deposition was made public, Deen fell under even harsher scrutiny when she appeared on NBCs Today, tearfully telling host Matt Lauer that she had only used the epithet once in her life, 30 years ago, because she had a gun pointed at her head.

This same poll supposedly revealed that Hillary Clinton would beat Paul Ryan in a GEORGIA presidential race. Uh, perhaps not to be taken seriously . . .
Disgraced for saying a word decades ago...how is that relevant.
MLK was an aduterer. Should that make him disgraced too??
This story is as ridiculous as Bill Clinton getting a freedom medal from Obama.
Consuming calories over content of character.
This word supposedly can ruin lives and is as powerful as Kryptonite to Superman.
Yet blacks use it amongst themselves as a greeting.
Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit!
I bet Paula Deen had fewer affairs with white women than Martin Luther King did.
And as far as we know, Paula Deen never had prostitutes delivered to her hotel room.
“according to a new poll from left-leaning Public Policy Polling. “
well no sh*t, it came from a lefty polling group
As with Obumbo, MLK, the neo-Marxist con man, is quite far down on my list of people to be admired.
That’s the best news I’ve heard all day, and I find Paula Deen to be really annoying.
Clinton was keynote speaker at the last Democrat convention. Here was a guy who was impeached, disbarred for lying to a court, nailed as a liar who took sexual advantage of a young intern less than half his age, did sick things with a cigar, and masturbated in the Oval Office sink.
Clinton was, in short, the perfect Democrat keynote speaker. Maybe he can get one of those silly Nobel thingies next.
And George Zimmerman supposedly garnered 2% in a recent presidential poll of Alaska. PPP must not have anything better to do.
Can't say the same for The Messiah's mother........
I am not from Georgia, but I like Paula Deen better than MLK too.
By the way DC is getting ready for a big 50th. Anniversary party for the MLK speech. Marion Barry will be there with Obama, I don’t know if they will smoke from the same crack pipe or not, but they will be there.
My advice is don’t visit Washington DC during that time.
Yeah, so all you damn New Yorkers should stop coming down here. We’re a bunch of ignorant racists.
How was she a “disgraced chef”? Did she put arsenic in a dish for customers? She said Nigga like 100 years ago during a bank robbery. Big f-ing deal. Rachel Jeantel says Nigga 100 times before lunch.
I wonder how they would rate other, totally different people, like Teddy Kennedy and Robert E. Lee?
Or the chef Emeril Lagasse and Wilt Chamberlain?
His assassination was a tragedy because it prevented his true, evil nature from being exposed and made him an untouchable martyr.
