Let’s hope they get a few break-ins after this.

This will be the next apartment complex to be burglarized. Hope there are no home invasions.

Some people in this country are just plain stupid.

It was overturned in nothing flat. See the link in:

this thread.

Not so good for the management company: (1) the apartment complex was bought and is supported by state and federal money; (2) there was no such language in the lease the tenant had signed earlier this year; (3) the Denver Housing Authority stated that it was unconstitutional in any case.

The bullies aren't answering the phone anymore, and they're slamming the door in the face of curious reporters. Too bad.

Castle Rock apartment’s controversial policy banning firearms is thrown out
http://www.9news.com/news/local/article/349123/222/Apartments-firearm-policy-thrown-out
Aug 7, 2013

A controversial gun policy at an apartment complex for seniors has been thrown out after a 9Wants to Know report.

The Douglas County Housing Partnership, a multi-jurisdictional housing authority, held an emergency board of directors meeting late Wednesday afternoon.

Board members decided that the policy, which would have prohibited residents from having firearms in their homes, will not go into effect.

Many, many years ago at one point in my mis-spent youth, I shot pistols in one of my apartments into wet phone books for fun. Neighbors were concerned about the noise but they gave me wide berth and nobody, but nobody, made too much noise and kept me awake.

Oddly enough, even if this hadn’t been overturned, it was almost unenforceable, because privacy laws prohibit landlord inspections, and, as was pointed out, “If a chainsaw wielding rapist broke through your door and you ventilated him, you might indeed lose your lease, but you still win.”

A little bit of Californicate in the high plains .... should serve as a warning about inviting illegal immigrants or coastal Progressives into your state.

...and, as was pointed out, “If a chainsaw wielding rapist broke through your door and you ventilated him, you might indeed lose your lease, but you still win.”

Precisely. It's not like you'd want to live there afterwards, anyway - you know it would be Hell trying to get the apartment management to replace the carpet.

Well so much for this thread. Good!

I was rummaging around in google for something to back up my dim memory of the FCC overturning rules forbidding Dish TV and Direct TV dishes on individual balconies, as a “precedent” if you will.

This is totally unconstitutional but ahhhhh, so what. /s This is a backdoor to overturning the 2nd Amendment and will spread like smoking bans. May the break-ins begin!

I clicked on this thread to see how many posts there would be before someone reported that this was overturned. It took less than 10 posts. Impressive.

The best thing this tenant can do is either move out or get rid of the guns.

Bullsh!t. The best thing the tenant can do is disobey the rule. He didn't sign his rights away when he moved in to the complex, and they have no right to come in after the fact and say he can't own a gun.
