During his Wednesday appearance on Jay Leno's "Tonight Show,' President Obama made three factual gaffes; one of them involved the claim that cities not found along the Gulf of Mexico are. Were Obama a Republican, these gaffes would have led news coverage for the next forty-eight hours. Not only did most of the media ignore or downplay these gaffes; the Associated Press went so far as to cover one of them up.

If I recall, in Quayle’s case, “potato” was spelled “potatoe” on a cue card given him by a teacher, and he just went with what was on the card, assuming it was correct. And I think it is true that “potatoe” is an archaic form of the word, not necessarily a wrong one.
That presumes something I am not willing to concede.

One of the conceits of many libs is their belief that they’re well-informed. My own impression of most of my lib family members and friends is that they’re vastly uninformed about many issues of consequence. They simply don’t realize it in their own smug little bubble. Nah, I didn't hear the delivery but it just seems to me to be a run on sentence.
The only merit to the story is that a Conservative *may* have drawn flack for it.

If that were Bush, it would have a running Gag on late night TV, like Letterman used to do with his “Great Moments in Presidential Speeches” routine.
