A Florida beach safety officer was fired on Friday after he referred to Trayvon Martin as a “thug” on his personal Facebook page.
Todd Snipes, a beach officer of 15 years who was stationed about 40 minutes from where Trayvon Martin was killed in Sanford, Fla., was initially suspended for the post he made on Facebook last month.
“Another thug gone,” Snipes wrote the night of George Zimmerman’s acquittal. “Pull up your pants and be respectful. Bye bye thug r.i.p.”
In his termination letter, Department of Public Protection Director George Recktenwald wrote that Snipes had “engaged in behavior that threatens the respect and trust of the community and jeopardizes the perception that the department enforces the law fairly, even-handedly and without bias,”

I am careful about expressing my actual views, since we are now an occupied nation. It has been taken over by those philosophically allied with the former KGB and Stasi. During my last years in Minnesota, I had to put up an act of being a Kool-Aid drinking leftist, yet would still be found out since 1) I had lived in Texas for a while, a place which they hate and 2) one of my clients was Flint Hills Resources, a.k.a. “the EVIL KOCH BROTHERS”. No Facebook, and not even a hint that I disagreed with Obama (not welcome in many social/business/retail situations up there). I am back in Texas, and pray the texas does not become culturally lost.
Stop posting things on Facebook. In fact, stop using Facebook. If you are not careful about using Facebook, it will cause you all sorts of problems on the job and in your real-life, non-virtual relationships. Just my two cents.

You are right. They would then be able to point to the defaced painting and have something else inflammatory to complain about. It’d have to be the whole Capitol building defaced, just to be even-handed enough for these brain dead folks, LOL. Why not contact the Brain Dead in Chief, the Florida guvnor and complain about the waste of taxpayer dollars and the obvious prejudice of the state of Florida being shown against the legal system?
I don’t do Facebook. I think it’s an exercise in narcissism. I don’t need to publicize my life to anyone, thank you. And, as you pointed out, it’s been publicized in the media so many times as a source for incriminating material. You’d think folks would have learned by now. Don’t share your private thoughts where they can be used by employers, etc. against you.
I guess the truth must really hurt.Though when your working for a Law Enforcement agency you have to be diplomatic at all times and use your words wisely.
And most of all...NEVER announce on FB that you are leaving town to go on vacation.

However, under Obama, I've heard people say over and over, not only to me but other people who criticize Obama, "You need to watch what you post on Facebook (or what you write to the newspaper, or put on a message board)". Obama's minions are putting a clamp on 1st Amendment rights.

For Conservatives it is not free speech if it involves a vile act, death threat, or generally an intentional act to debase religious beliefs or race of a person.
