Wasn’t Bill Ruger’s wife from North Carolina? I know he went to school there. If so it could just be family connections.

My Ruger SR1911 was so sweet. Just point it and the hole appears just where I was hoping it would. Breaking it down though... that freakin spring has tried to take my head off every time. Divots in the ceiling speak to my inability to do it right. Too bad I lost it in the intercostal while on a kayak. Stupid thing to bring on a kayak.

Too bad Connecticut! - Colt, Pratt Whitney, Ruger, hey its just starting.

That’s a good start. NC needs jobs, and the firearms industry needs a home in lands friendly to it.

Don’t they make the VAQUERO single Action cowboy revolver?

Heard it was pretty good.

From the article: The Mayodan plant will produce new gun models that haven't yet been announced, Fifer told analysts. The new machine tools used for the Mayodan plan have already been ordered and production expected to begin early next year, Fifer said.

Maybe one of these:

I have two of those in Stainless. Beautiful and bombproof.

Do they shoot well? Interested in Cowboy and Western shooting and thinking of getting one in .45 and a Hnery in .45 to match.

The Vaqueros shoot well....better than I do. They are absolutely bombproof.....I do not believe you could destroy one if you tried. And the setup you are thinking of is the exact setup I have, down to the caliber. I love my Henry too; one of my favorite guns by far.

FWIW, A lot of competitive shooters in CAS use .38 caliber because the recoil is less and you can get shots off quicker. I do not care about that, as I am doing it for fun and want to use a “real” cowboy gun, not a .38 with 3.1 grains of powder.
