The maternal grandmother of a 6-year-old girl is seeking child support from a University of Pittsburgh researcher jailed on charges he fatally poisoned his neurologist wife with cyanide.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ( http://bit.ly/16NFNkG ) reported Tuesday that Lois Klein of Towson, Md., filed the court petition. Klein was granted custody of granddaughter Cianna Ferrante last week.

Very interesting. In our state, we can’t collect child support from inmates. I’ll have to check to see if we can if they have a nice ol bank account.
As for the grandmother asking for child support, again, in our state, whoever has legal custody of the child and IS ON ANY KIND OF STATE SUPPORT (is Granny poor?) is entitled to child support from the parents.

Why do they prohibit the collection of child support from inmates.
Because in prison the father or mother is not generating enough of an income to contribute. They (the incarcerated) are already living off the state, and chances are good that their kids are also. Why pay thrice when we can get away with only paying twice?
Oh, and I meant to say, not all child support is for low income. In this case, it well could be that granma has money, but still, the father is responsible for the upkeep of his kids. He owes it to them to provide for them.
