What a smart lady! I wish she were OUR SOS.
I’m hoping Ruth Johnson runs for Governor or Senator at some point. She’s in conflict with the governor a lot because she’s a lot tougher on voting issues but that’s one of the advantages of an elected SOS.
She’s the reason we have a checkbox to affirm citizenship on the ballot application we fill out on election day. You don’t have to check the box but you do have to sign an affidavit stating that you know its illegal for non citizens to vote. Combined with the new auditing it should be fairly effective.
