Might it be that both are true? The missile funneling has the smell of Brennan all over it. Stevens knew of it. The kidnap-for-trade operation was not known to Stevens. It probably wasn't known to Brennan. It has the smell of something cooked up entirely in the political side by not very competent appararatchiks like Hillary, Power and Jarrett/Obama, maybe Axelrod. The Stevens snatch operation completely blindsided the missile running crew and that's why they didn't respond according to 'plan'.

Look at it from Morsi’s point of view. As of July 2012 The clock is running out on getting the Blind Sheik released. Romney will get elected and any chance of the Sheik’s release evaporates into thin air.. 7 weeks before the 2012 election is 9/11, the perfect day to run a hostage-taking of Stevens at Benghazi. The fires ruined everything and Stevens died.
I’m getting the feeling something is going to break wide open on this. So far it’s most conjecture, but that conjecture is gaining in detail and accounability. No wonder Obama didn’t want a military unit dispatched to relieve the folks at the Benghazi consulate and annex. And also...no wonder the FBI didn’t get on the ground in Benghazi for several days after the event.

Yes, and how did that video become known to Hillary/Obama/Rice/Power gang? Made in obscurity and viewed by only a few dozen by the time Rice laid blame on it it doesn't make sense that it would have come to their attention unless they knew of it beforehand, perhaps even had sub rosa involvement in funding its production?
Other than the connections Montagraph made back to a DoD sub-contractor I have no idea what the answer to those questions are. But I have been wondering the same things since about 2-3 weeks after the attack. It makes no sense at all unless they knew about it beforehand. Which it certainly appears that Hillary did...

Good point! Another thought is that Morsi was so stupid as to not replace all the top military asap when he first got elected. Maybe he wasn't any smarter in choosing his Benghazi op leader, or maybe he was double crossed by some of his own men?
An interesting question would be where did the diesel fuel come from? Was it there at the site already, or was it brought in?
I think the diesel fuel was staged at the front gate. They probably thought they could just ‘smoke him out’ of the consulate.

From what I’ve read on the Live Egypt thread, Morsi wanted to get rid of all the top military and he did manage to replace a few, but the mil just said “Nope, you ain’t doing that”. The Egyptian mil is sort of independent and owns resources. Thankfully for the Egyptian people.
Its like the opposite of Venezuela (Chavez) where the military has subverted the democracy. It’s too far gone now.
They can literally beat up the opposition on the floor of the legislature, the Supreme Court won’t accept challenges from the oppo and will fine and threaten jail for those who challenge the government.
The media is state-owned or controlled of course.
The military is going to own its own factories, businesses and media propaganda outlets soon.
Lots of them and everyone works for free.
If I were a real journalist or a Congressional staffer I would take advantage of all that groundwork.
I remember reading that certain actors in that video claimed that what was on the Internet was an over-dubbing of the dialog—very different from the original.
I remember watching most of the video. The dialog and story line seemed implausible, contrived, and worthy only of seventh graders with a very expensive camera and an ample costume budget.
I imagine it was a promotional video by a guy trying to raise the money for the full length feature he had planned. I imagine Hillary’s people saw the chance to make a usefully-inflammatory video by overdubbing outrageous dialog, and paying the guy for rights to do that, through a middleman, of course. He knows if he talks, he’ll learn how to kill himself with three shots to the back of his head.

Only the final one was forwarded, by persons unknown, to Sheikh Khalid Abdullah the cleric in Cairo who aired it on TV. Nakoula, the maker of the original film, was not the one who uploaded the final version, Innocence of Muslims, to the internet.
