It will always be a source of puzzlement to me how John Candy, who was maybe the funniest cast member of the funniest show ever on tv, SCTV, could make such awfully, unfunny movies.

Uncle Buck, Stripes, Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Spaceballs unfunny?

Stripes was funny, but Candy was a minor character. The other movies were UNFUNNY!!!!
