Egypt's military leader has vowed the army will not stand by silently in the face of Muslim violence. Gen. Abdel-Fatah al-Sissi said that the Army has no intention of seizing power while calling on Islamists to join the political process. al-Sissi led the July 3 coup that ousted Pres Morsi. al-Sissi's comments came during his first appearance since a deadly crackdown on two encampments of Morsi supporters. al-Sissi appeared at a gathering of top military commanders and police chiefs.
