interesting ... but doubt is true. Will only believe the saudi royals are not helping to encourage the mb when Christian Churches and Mosques are allowed on saudi territory.

It’s beginning to look like the only place The Moose Limb Brothahood is welcome is in Soetoro’s White House.

The MB is a sort of rival group. The Saudis are all about preserving the Saudi royal family and its authority (and money), and the MB is of no help whatsoever in this project and in fact is a threat to them.

This isn’t altruism and it certainly isn’t an onset of modernity, but even the Saudis realize that the society that the MB wants to install throughout the ME - including, of course, Saudi Arabia - is not going to do any good for them or their country.

uncertain here ... have noticed the saudi royal do encourage snakes such as the rebels in syria though. Not a fan of assad though and certainly not a fan of the Saudi royals.

The Saudi royals are all about the Saudi royals. Conserving their power is important. They are the “guardians of Mecca,” after all, and Mohammed was an Arab and was extending the power of his (their) tribe through his attacks.

I even think the saudis would have loosened up a bit in recent years if the US hadn’t turned so Muslim-fundie friendly.

The Saudis want the power and the money. And I think they’re suddenly realizing that Obama’s madness could possibly bring down the whole thing and turn the entire ME into a war zone between Islamists and everybody else. Don’t forget, bin Laden was a Saudi royal - and they kicked him out.

I remember 15 of 19 being saudis on 911. Then I remember the pittance offered by a saudi royal to then mayor Rudy.

And what does that have to do with the MB being a threat to the Saudis?

You do realize that bin Laden threatened the Saudis, right?

and you must realize too the saudi royals try to play both sides against the middle. I’m no fan of the saudi royals. The saudi royals are normally the snakes biting you and I, the middle east, and Africa. I will agree the saudi royal do one thing well ... and that is their lust for power and their deception in holding onto power through manipulation of oil prices.

The MB are the Saudis’ competition.

The Saudis want Wahhabism to rule, the MBs are cutting in on their business.

I would see it that way if the saudi royals were not active in Syria.
