In Illinois, potential gun buyers are required to present a firearm owners identification card, or FOID. The cards are issued by the Illinois State Police to applicants who pass a screening of state criminal and mental health records. Under the new law, the potential seller would have to call a hotline to ensure that the would-be buyer's FOID is valid

another poorly written headline. if that statement was a law and i went to court i could argue it only applies to people who may buy their first firearm but does not apply to those who are already firearm owners. would that make us kinetic gun owners (physics humor)

Interesting. FOX does not allow comments on this article.
“Guns are a plague on too many of our communities,” Quinn, a Democrat, said in a statement.”
No. Democrats and people who spawn children without supervising their education, family development, etc, are a plague on your communities!!!!

This law is unconstitutional on its face, per the Heller and McDonald decisions out of SCOTUS.
