I'm afraid that the protestors, along with many other Constitution-ignorant patriots, do not understand that 1st Amendment rights to free speech and right to assembly are not absolute. This is evidenced by the following excerpt from Thomas Jefferson's writings.

"3. Resolved that it is true as a general principle and is also expressly declared by one of the amendments to the constitution that ‘the powers not delegated to the US. by the constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively or to the people’: and that no power over the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, or freedom of the press being delegated to the US. by the constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, all lawful powers respecting the same did of right remain, & were reserved, to the states or the people: that thus was manifested their determination to retain to themselves the right of judging how far the licentiousness of speech and of the press may be abridged without lessening their useful freedom, and how far those abuses which cannot be separated from their use should be tolerated rather than the use be destroyed (emphasis added); …" --Thomas Jefferson, Kentucky Resolutions, 1798.

And regardless that the 14th Amendment now limits the extent to which states can abridge our constitutional rights, given that the protestors were distracting drivers, arguably the same idea as drivers being distracted by cell phones, the cops had a reasonable basis to stop the protest imo.

Regarding the miscellaneous charges like resisting arrest, the protesters were decent. I think that such charges are likely routine, CYA on the part of the cops. If a charge doesn't stick, oh well.

Finally, Obama isn't the problem with the country imo. The problem is Constitution-ignorant "patriots" who don't understand Congress's constitutionally limited powers as evidenced by the Constitution's Section 8 of Article I, Article V and the 10th Amendment. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the protestors had never heard of Section 8.

your post was extreme sarcasm, correct? I mean I’ve seen some ridiculous posts here, but this takes the cake so I have to assume you were joking.
