Without the Senate credential, she has no political service credential and no chance at the primary

Suppose you're a Republican running for congress in Iowa or Florida, just to use two examples. Your opponent, an incumbent Democrat, has a good sized war chest and the backing of the DNC, White House and the Clintons. Who do you ask to come to your aid, Senator Santorum or Governor Palin? Be honest. Who do you think can draw large crowds, numerous donations and local/national press attention? Here endeth the lesson.
