A proposed new Habs-coloured TTC uniform including red, white and blue striped caps and golf shirts has rankled front-line operators, prompting the transit commission to confirm it will always support the Leafs.
While the TTC is still finalizing the design for its new uniforms, slated to roll out next year, images of possible options have been circulated informally among staff. The chief complaint is the colour scheme, which mirrors the Montreal Canadiens hockey team, a long-standing rival of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Everyone at my division that has seen them hates them, said one TTC operator, speaking on condition of anonymity. As someone who was born in Toronto I take exception to the colours; too much like the Habs
They pay [us] to wear a uniform so Ill wear it, but not Montreal Canadiens-coloured golf shirts.

Canada Ping!
My nephew...*not* a hockey fan...is amazed that a scene of kids playing hockey is found on the back of the $5 bill.He doesn’t understand that in The Great White North hockey isn’t a sport,it’s a religion.
Growing up in Toronto, I played for a couple of years before discovering that the pros play on ice. We played on the street and the play was dead whenever someone shouted, “car!”
Old Time Hockey....like Eddie Shore.
Think the original 6 should wear their throwbacks.
