The Chinese and Russians are backing the Egyptian military. So are the Saudis and possibly even the Iranians.

Basically, in the end, we could have a very dangerous Egypt on our hands, just because we decided to turn our back on them during their fight against the Muslim Brotherhood. Egypt could also become very anti-Israel, and fall under the influence of Russia, China, and Iran.
Iran is busy fighting Muslim Brotherhood backed extremists in Syria right now, so that’s why Iran would back a crackdown against the MB.
