It is quite amazing that a site like this would have so many ignorant post from what should be smart posters.
Firearm laws vary from state to state. What might be illegal in one state may be perfectly legal in others.
Same with self defense and protection of property laws. If more people open carried in states where it is legal to do so as it was for this man in Texas, the populace would become more accustomed to it.
As the old saying goes,”use it or lose it”!
Fail.
“The time for reasonableness and grace is over.”
We can still be reasonable and civil without being pushovers. We can be activist without being a-holes.
“What the heck is an AR243?”
I don’t know, but I want one.
LOL
The AR-10 is available in .243, as the base cartridge is a .308 case necked down to .243 Even the magazine is the same.
I hear what you are saying but homos aren't persuading any one to their cause other than the intimidated wussy politicians.
Those who are on the fence of the issue are more than likely repulsed by their in your face demands and rejecting them.
Those who think this in your face display of an AR 15 is not a good way to go about recruiting those on the fence of this issue to our side are some how not Conservative according to some posters on this site.
I am a staunch 2nd Amendment supporter and defender, I just think this is the wrong way to go about educating the average Joe Blow who knows little to nothing about our Constitutional Rights, where they come from and why they are so important.
There are *no* TX laws regarding long guns, except that they conform the the NFA.
That means concealed, unconcealed, loaded, unloaded. Any lawman that claims otherwise is blowing smoke.
They can only be banned from schools, racetracks, courthouses, the secure area of airports, and (on election days) polling locations.
Screw those limp wristed bed wetters. I open carry my LOADED 45 USP into Dennys to have breakfast here in Phoenix
If he had left his AR in his car it would have been stolen like Mr Ditters was.
There is also no Texas law that differentuates between a gun being loaded or unloaded. A gun is a gun, bullets or not.
I respectfully disagree. The opposition will simply drown us out as they have for the last fifty years. We need to shout louder, act prouder and stay longer than the opposition. It is certainly vulgar, but the stakes are too high to continue to embrace a losing strategy. Civility is a luxury we cannot afford. We’ll reopen the drawing-room for tea when our gun rights are assured, our borders are secure and our children aren’t being evangelized for Islam and gay sex.
Bears repeating ... again
It's obviously still 1980 wherever you are. Can you tell me how to get there? I'd love to join you.
Then you’d be broke and in prison.
On the contrary, if you are claiming that it is illegal to carry a rifle in the open in Texas, you are obligated to provide a cite to the law that backs your position.
However, I can save you some trouble. There is no such law. There is such a law regarding handguns, but it doesn’t apply in this case.
I have no problem with him carrying his rifle but the “cameraman” should get thrown in jail for not rotating the damn phone 90 degrees.
