Obamacare, Ending Health Insurance for Families As We Know It
NRO ^ | August 20, 2013 | Jim Geraghty.

Obamacare, the policy enacted by the party that keeps loudly bragging about standing for the “middle class” and “working families”, is spurring companies to ditch health insurance coverage of their employees working spouses.

But wait, there’s more; companies that aren’t making that move are making employees pay more to cover their spouses, and making employees pay the full cost for their children’s health insurance.

Recall this detail the next time some cheerful liberal emphasizes that Obamacare requires insurers to cover children’s health care: “Although the law requires plans to cover children, it allows companies to pass along the full cost of so-called dependent coverage to the employee, James McTiernan, health care consultant with Triad Gallagher said.”

So Obamacare is effectively ending health insurance for families as we know it. Way to go!

Early indications are from the decision of retailer Forever 21 to cut hours are that the low-info voters are indeed blaming the GRRRREEEEEEDY EEEEEEEVIL corporations and not Obama.

So when this collapses they’ll step into the breach and do single payer. Just as planned.

Not yet. Sept 1 I would. I had COBRA coverage before. That expires at the end of this month and this is what my former employers offers retirees.

My job provided no benefits whatsoever, so our health insurance was always “on us”....wifey and I were spending about 14K a year for a sh*tty policy until we got on Medicare 18 months ago......now we have a top flight “Plan F” supplemental which costs us around 3K annually - and it covers everything, without exception, that Medicare doesn’t.

I am more and more convinced that the intent of Obamacare all along was to kill of private health insurance and then implement a single government run plan.

Well, when more folks start dealing with $10K - $20K premiums, I have no doubt single payer will come on quickly. Many low information voters don’t even gross that...lol

Single Payer: Single-payer health care is a system in which the government, rather than private insurers, pays for all health care costs.[1] Single-payer systems may contract for healthcare services from private organizations (as is the case in Canada) or may own and employ healthcare resources and personnel (as is the case in the UK). The term "single-payer" thus only describes the funding mechanism—referring to health care financed by a single public body from a single fund—and does not specify the type of delivery, or for whom doctors work. Although the fund holder is usually the state, some forms of single-payer use a mixed public-private system.

The single payer can expect long waits even for emergency's...it is Socialized Medicine for those of you non-informed.

There will be a single payer. Most companies want to be out of the health care business, and would be happy to dump it on the state.

Most GOP politicians would like that also.

Simple fact is that the majority of people can not afford the level of care they expect, and demand someone else cover them. Right now, it is the employers paying for it.

Obamacare is an abomination, but whatever happened to equal pay for equal work? There’s no good reason a parent should get healthcare for six and the same salary as someone who is only getting health coverage for one. If employers want to iron out that disparity, it shouldn’t be up to the government to prevent them from doing so.

While we’re at it, of course, this is all part of why we need to stop subsidizing employers for being in the healthcare business altogether.

Facing those premiums, they could do what the self-employed have long done: go with higher deductibles and other incentives that encourage transparent and competitive healthcare costs.

Only the terminally stupid still believe that the purpose of Obamacare is to deliver healthcare.

It is glaringly obvious that Obamacare is nothing more than a humongous scam to redistribute wealth and increase the size of the federal bureaucracy by creating thousands upon thousands of busy-work jobs.

We’re missing a point to rally against Obamacare. All these trickles will never convince Congress to defund it. I wish we had some leader who could unite us against it before it’s too late. We need massive protests like we had before they passed it, phone-in campaigns, money-bombs for candidates who oppose Obamacare, an all-out campaign to stop and reverse it.

I know it’s been the rule that once they pass a law we’re stuck with it but that’s not true. We can change the status quo if we stand together.

“Obamacare, Ending Health Insurance for Families As We Know It”

Well, that’s not The One’s fault. It’s those greedy, 1%’s sticking it to middle class workers. I mean, they’re acting like Zero is PERSONALLY telling these companies to alter their insurance programs...

“Uh, Jay...how many more of these company CEO’s do I have to call? I mean, couldn’t we just do this by Executive Order?”

“No, Mr. President. You have to call each and every CEO and tell them to discontinue their health insurance programs. Mention it’s for the good of the country. Also, tell them about those calls the NSA has recorded of their conversations with their girlfriend. Their wife wouldn’t be to happy to hear about that.”

“Uh, Jay...but, what if they don’t have a girlfriend?”

“Don’t worry about that Mr. President. We’ll invent one.”

“So Obamacare is effectively ending health insurance for families as we know it. “

Which was its primary intent. Obamacare was never anything more than a another Obammunist redistributive scheme to take away medical care from those who had it and give it to those who don’t.
