You’d never get enough support for this to happen. Liberals won’t want two extra conservative senators. And if Liberals are already running roughshod over these rural counties, there is no way the Colorado Legislature will pass this. And then of course you’d need to get congress to do the same.

You’re right, this is a way long shot. However, it’s good publicity, along with the recalls, letting voters know just how pissed off people here are with the Democrat regime.

Well, a 51st state, with two guaranteed Republican senators, will surely be embraced by the current Colorado, and national, governments.

We could compromise by voting the Philadelphia and Scranton areas out of Pennsylvania and let them call themselves West New Jersey. Then you'd have two guaranteed liberal senators to balance North Colorado. They would have to take Casey, Jr. with them since he's from Scranton.

However, Coloradans need to think of a better name than North Colorado since the "NC" abbreviation is already claimed. How about West Kansas (WK) or South Wyoming (SW) or Free Colorado (FC)?

I would vote for it if I lived a little farther east. I think Colorado should succeed form Denver.

Iffin they was coniguous with North and/or West Texas, they might find some support in secession.

Until then, we reserve the RIGHT...

Michigan can secede from detroit and then we can call Detroit East Oakland.

I do agree with the better idea (when this fails-even through a valiant effort on the citizens part), Give EACH county a State Senate Seat!

DENVER — You’ve got North Carolina and North Dakota, so why not Northern Colorado? Voters in several rural Colorado counties will be asked whether they want to form a new state tentatively named Northern Colorado in the November election, a reaction to the Democrat-controlled state legislature’s “war on rural Colorado.” The Weld County Commissioners voted unanimously at Monday’s meeting to place a measure on the Nov. 5 ballot asking voters whether they want the county to join other rural counties in forming another state. “The concerns of rural Coloradans have been ignored for years,” William Garcia, chairman of the Weld County Commissioners, said in a statement. “The last session was the straw that broke the camel’s back for many people. They want change. They want to be heard.” Three other rural counties — Cheyenne, Sedgwick and Yuma — also plan to place the 51st state referendum on the fall ballot. At least three more counties plan to consider the proposal this week at their commission meetings, said Jeffrey Hare, spokesman for the 51st State Initiative.

New states PING

I think there’s something in the Constitution that prevent the territory within state bounds to become its own state.

Of the four counties mentioned, none share a common border.

Three are western counties bordering Kansas and they each have a non-mentioned county between them.

Still good to hear that the disgust over majority tyranny is being given full voice.

Too many leftists moved there in the last sixty years. It became a state where people that wanted the Rocky Mountain experience would relocate to without a job or a prospect of one and just live marginally to “be with nature.”

Since this obviously is a racist-fueled effort, the new State should be named "Whiterado"

I've heard proposals to give Detroit to Canada. But I can't think of anything the Canadians have ever done to us to deserve something that bad. Including helping the British burn down Buffalo during the War of 1812.

OTOH, I can see several advantages of having the Red Chinese lease it as sort of a special administrative region like Hong Kong. Including how they would take care of the indigent Muslim population.
