a better word would be “examples.” Every story about the rising seas will have photos as does this thread on FR.

I don't want to put words in someone else's mouth but I think the pics on this thread were intended to show that the shorelines they illustrate haven't changed a bit in several decades in spite of the claims of rising sea levels.

Don't fear the FReeper! Let's invite him to comment. lol

Was given a gift subscription to Nat Geo years ago. Let it expire. I keep getting requests to re-up — they keep going into the shredder.

The pics I posted of Virginia Beach and Atlantic City illustrate that sea level has NOT changed from the 1950s to today.

My wife went to the beach in AC in the 1970s. I went to the beach in Va Beach in the 1970s. The hotels and the ocean are all in the same place they used to be.

True. The pics and my personal experience illustrate that the ocean is in the same place it was 50 years ago.

The National Geographic article knowingly confuses storm damage with sea rise damage. Others will confuse erosion damage with sea rise damage (maybe the article does this also).

National Geographic is a politicized, lying, alarmist.

Let there be no doubt about that! As a kid, in the '60s and '70s, I used to read them cover to cover. Lots of interesting stuff. Since the '80s it has turned into a propaganda rag for the enviro-wacko agenda and other leftist causes.

Living not too far away, I have often visited OBX, since the 40’s, and the shoreline has changed greatly. However I have always atributed the loss of beach to wave action, especially during noreasters and hurricanes.
